David Cassel Haring, age 86, of Wilmington, formerly of Lewiston, NY, passed away on March 30, 2015, at Country House.

In 1951, he graduated from The Ohio State University, where he earned B.Che.E. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering.

Mr. Haring served in the U.S. Navy as a LTJG on the USS Collett DD-730 from July 1951 to July 1953. He was employed by the DuPont Company from 1953 to 1958 at the Niagara Falls Plant and then from 1958 to 1992 in the Wilmington office.

He was a member of Tau Beta Pi (engineering honorary fraternity) and Concord Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Trustee.

Mr. Haring is survived by his wife, Suzanne Sinclair Haring; son, Alan D. Haring of Lawrenceville, NJ; daughter, Laurel A. Haring and husband Edward Stahl, Jr., of Wilmington; step-son, Bradley Damon Owen and partner Peter J. Miscovich of New York; four grandchildren, Kendall and Colby Haring and Matthew and Elliot Stahl; and sister Carolyn H. Nagler of Annandale, VA.

Services will be private.
