Dorothy Long Bunting age 87 of Dagsboro, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, March 25 surrounded by her family.

Dorothy attended Selbyville Elementary and Junior High School, Penn Hall High School in Chambersburg, PA, and graduated from the University of Delaware in 1973.

"Miss Dot" as she was affectionately referred to by her students, was a kindergarten teacher in the private and public sector for more than 30 years. In 1980 she was honored for her expertise in the development and education of young children and the positive loving impact she had on her student's lives by being named the Indian River Teacher of the Year.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Bethel Methodist United Church of Dagsboro, and a willing volunteer for community events. Dot loved cooking and was famous for her chocolate cake, peanut butter pie and her happy hour Hors d'oeuvre, "crabbies". Dorothy enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially at the family's summer cottage, "The Good-E-Nuf" in Bethany Beach, Delaware,

Norris L. Bunting her devoted and loving husband of 62 years preceded her in death in 2011 She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Montigney, and husband Dr. Paul Montigney and grandson Philip Montigney, of Wilmington, DE, son Lee Bunting and wife Criss Bunting and grandsons, Ethan and Garrett Bunting of Kennett Square, PA, sister Anna Lee Gray of Selbyville, DE, and sister in laws, Eula Graves of Easton, MD and Mary Louise Warrington of Selbyville, DE.

A memorial service to honor the lives of Norris and Dorothy Bunting will be held Saturday, April 25, 11:00 AM at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Dagsboro, DE. Burial will be private.
